Just in time for the summer, Camp Bow Wow Cincinnati’s own Lyndsay Tankersley and Claire Glass stopped by FOX19 NOW to discuss some safe ways to exercise with your pet.
It’s summertime and the living is easy! Pet parents and their pups are ready to head outdoors to work on that pup-kini body, but what’s the safest way to work out with a furry friend? The rising temperatures pose dangers to canines, so before romping and rolling in the sun with Fido, it’s important to take some safety precautions.
Here’s what Lyndsay and Claire suggest:
- Look for signs that indicate a dog is bored. Sometimes a dog may be misbehaving at home because they’re looking for something to do. Some dogs need more stimulation than others, but there are many different interactive toys out there that can help.
- Make sure each dog gets enough cardio. Walking, jogging, and running are all safe ways to exercise together.
- If Fido enjoys the water, swimming is also a good option to keep him fit and cool during the summer.
- Another option is to go to an air conditioned doggy day care facility — like Camp Bow Wow! We do interviews and temperament tests to make sure each dog plays well in a group environment.
It’s important for dog owners to keep their dogs safe and active throughout the summer. Fortunately, as a Camp Bow Wow franchise owner, you’ll be in the unique position to provide pet parents with a fun and safe alternative to the summer heat.
