In our opinion, dogs are the ultimate Valentine’s Day date. We realize we may be a little bit biased, what with owning North America’s largest doggy day care franchise and all, but it seems we’re not the only ones who think so!
Earlier this week, Brian Carlson of News4Utah caught up with Ariana Hazard and April Prado from Camp Bow Wow of Salt Lake City to discuss just that! Here are a few reasons they came up with to prove that dogs make the best dates when love is in the air.
1. You can count on Fido.
Gone are the dog days of ordering and eating a banana split sundae for two because your date had to work late, or worse, didn’t show at all! Making a date with your dog means you can rest assured knowing you’ll never be stood up.
2. You’ll have his undivided attention.
Move over cell phones and social media! Fido’s only concern is you. His loyalty and attention is unmatched — we’re sure of it.
3. A night-in is just his speed.
Avoid the hustle and bustle of the V-Day restaurant scene and settle for takeout and a movie with your furry friend instead. As long as you’ve got a cozy couch, a Netflix account and a bag of dog treats, your date will be happy as a clam!
4. You’ll always be kissed goodnight.
Goodnight, good evening, good-everything! Dogs are known for their slobbery affection, and while sure, Fido’s kisses may be a big stinky and sloppy, they’ll always be full of unconditional love.
5. Fido doesn’t need fancy gifts.
Dogs don’t expect expensive presents or flowers, and they surely can’t eat chocolate! A simple new toy and some designated playtime will do just fine in Fido’s eyes.
