The holiday season is, hands down, one of the busiest times of the year for the pet care and boarding industry. The key driving factor? Pet parents all across North America are planning their annual family vacations, and sometimes Fido isn’t able to come along. Fortunately though, if he’s a Camper he doesn’t have to be alone! And as a Camp owner, here’s how you can be prepared for Fido’s stay:
Step 1: Set specific goals.
Looking to book a certain number of overnight stays? Or perhaps you want to hit a target revenue goal from add-on grooming services. Whether they’re monetary in nature or not, the goals you set out to reach during the holiday rush should be quantifiable and measurable in some way or another.
Step 2: Get the word out to pet parents.
Don’t forget to get in contact with both current and potential customers! Our suggestion? Use the power of social media to your advantage. Let pet parents know all about seasonal happenings and remind them to book their pup’s stay sooner rather than later.
Step 3: Restock your puppy pantry.
With all those extra paws to clean and mouths to feed, you best make sure you’ve got enough supplies in the pantry! Now’s the time to place your order for treats, cleaning supplies and marketing materials. (Bonus tip: It’s also the time to make any necessary repairs or replacements!)
Step 4: Plan an office party.
The holidays are busy, which means they can get a little stressful. Make sure your employees know how valued they are by throwing a potluck or catering a small luncheon during the workday. You may even want to incorporate a gift exchange or give out some staff appreciation awards!
