Dog Walking FAQs
Our Walk Matches Our Talk – Come See for Yourself
You know what they say – a walk a day keeps the vet away! Our Certified Caregivers at Camp Bow Wow® can come to your home to take your dog on a walk and ensure they are getting the exercise they need. Just like humans, dogs benefit from walks in many ways. By scheduling us to walk your pup on a regular basis, you can help to prolong their lifespan and help them achieve a higher quality of life. Take a look at some answers to our frequently asked questions below.
What makes you different than other dog walking and pet care services?
People trust our established brand for many reasons. We are confident in our knowledge and experience. Camp Bow Wow has led the pet care industry since 2000 and is staffed with fully capable Caregivers who are certified and extensively trained to care for your dogs and the best ways to handle a variety of situations. Each of our Certified Caregivers has undergone a thorough background check and extensive training program, and is certified in pet first aid and CPR to ensure the highest levels of safety for your pets and your home.
For additional peace of mind, we would be happy to provide you with a free, in-home consultation so we can fully understand your needs and those of your pet.
Where will you walk my dog?
Our team is happy to walk your dog where you would normally walk them. We can stick to your immediate neighborhood or walk them to a different area, depending on your preference. It’s our goal to keep the walk as close to yours as possible so we are consistent with your dog’s routine. Please note that we are unable to transport your dog.
Do you do background checks on your employees?
Our Certified Caregivers at Camp Bow Wow undergo rigorous background checks as well as an extensive certification program before being able to care for our clients. We only hire individuals we would trust to care for our own pets, so you can rest assured your furry pals are always in the best hands possible, other than your own.
What happens if the Caregiver gets sick or is unable to walk my dog?
If your Certified Caregiver is unable to walk your dog, we will be sure to let you know prior to the appointment. When this happens, our team will send another Certified Caregiver out. You can count on us to always ensure your dog is well cared for and that no appointments are missed or canceled on our behalf.
Are you insured and bonded?
All Camp Bow Wow In-Home franchises are fully bonded and insured for your safety and peace of mind.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because the cancellation policy may vary by location, this is a great question to ask our Certified Caregiver during your free, initial in-home consultation.
My dog has health issues, will you still come?
Of course! Our Certified Caregivers are trained to care for pets with special needs as well as elderly pets. During your free initial consultation, we will take the time to understand the extent of your pet’s needs and duplicate the detailed information you provide us with to ensure they receive exactly what they need while you’re away.
What do you do in case of illness or injury?
Your pet’s immediate needs are our priority. Each of our trusted, loving Caregivers is certified in both pet first aid and CPR, so we can care for your pup if they have a superficial wound. If it’s something more serious, we can take them to your personal vet (or an emergency vet if your vet doesn’t offer after-hours services). If this occurs, we will call the emergency number you provide for us or your closest emergency contact.
What vaccinations are required?
Your dog will need to be up-to-date on all of their state-required vaccinations. Our team recommends that all Campers be vaccinated for Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies. Reach out to your local Camp to learn more about vaccination recommendations and requirements for your area.
Can you provide my dog with his/her medication?
Our trusted Caregivers are happy to administer most medications for our clients. This is a topic we will go over in detail with you during your free, initial in-home consultation.
